Healthcare Debriefing
The Wellness Nurse offers debriefing services—an evidence-informed support system to address grief, stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion in the workplace.
Whether your team is navigating client loss, moral distress, interpersonal conflict, or burnout, our structured debriefing sessions offer a psychologically safe environment to foster resilience, reduce absenteeism, and boost retention.

A debriefing is a structured group or individual conversation designed to help individuals process a challenging or emotional experience. It is not therapy—but it is therapeutic.
What happens in a debrief:
We offer two types of debriefing:
Well-Being Debriefings: Regular or one-time reflective group sessions focused on grief, emotional wellness, burnout, or moral distress (ideal for healthcare teams, educators, social services).
Individual Debriefings: Brief, structured sessions following a death, client loss, or emotionally intense event. These can be facilitated in person at the healthcare facility, The Wellness Nurse office, or virtually
Each session focuses on validation, meaning-making, and connection.
Why is a Debriefing Service Right for your Organization?
When grief, distress, or emotional overwhelm goes unacknowledged, the impact on teams is significant:
Disenfranchised grief: Staff feel they are not allowed to grieve losses that are deeply felt (e.g., patient deaths, client disengagements).
Compassion fatigue: Emotional exhaustion from repeated exposure to others' suffering.
Increased burnout, absenteeism, and turnover.
